Spanish tennis player Pablo Carreño has won his first ATP Tour singles title in Winston-Salem in the United States.
In the final three sets, Joma player Carreño defeated Roberto Bautista Agut 6-7 (6), 7-6 (1), 6-4. Carreño, seeded 16th in Winston-Salem, had to overcome the disappointment of losing the first set on a tie break to narrowly win the second and third. The two and a half hour match saw Carreño finally break the serve of Bautista to be crowned Winston-Salem champion.
The victory is Carreño’s first singles title on the ATP World Tour circuit, having contested two other finals, winning one doubles title.
Congratulations Pablo!
